I've spent ten years as a midwife in the NHS. For the past two of them I've worked in continuity of care, which means I look after the same women from booking through to postnatal, rather than meeting them once and never again.

That model is what makes the rest of my work possible. It's how I can take antenatal education seriously and shape it around what each woman actually needs to know, instead of running through a generic checklist. Women have better outcomes when their midwife knows them. That's what I want to bring to The Motherhood Practice: one familiar face, from the first appointment to the last postnatal visit.
