Margo
Margo moved to London while pregnant and had no idea what postpartum support would look like. Here is how six weeks with her midwife Agata went.

Margo had been in London for exactly a week when she met Sarah, our co-founder. New city, new healthcare system, and a baby on the way. Pregnancy and birth were well covered in everything she read. What nobody seemed to be talking about was what came after.
A few weeks later she got in touch to arrange postnatal care, and was matched with Agata, one of our midwives. Agata supported Margo and her partner from birth through to the six week appointment: the same midwife, at home, every visit.
This is what Margo told us afterwards, in her own words.
"Being pregnant, one area I really felt out of my depth with was postpartum. It felt like all the information I was being offered was focused on the pregnancy, birth or baby, which was great but didn't help with the big unknown of postpartum. I am so happy I found The Motherhood Practice as it truly felt this bridged the gap I felt there would be in my postpartum journey, and I couldn't have been more right. I have felt so supported from the initial consultation call through to the final six week appointment. The team have been so consistent. I couldn't recommend this more to an expectant mother."
And on Agata:
"It has been an absolute pleasure having Agata's support. Not only has she been a consistent presence of calm and support, she's been able to help with all the questions my partner or I had. She's so patient, kind and open minded. No question is too silly or too specific. She has consistently gone above and beyond and supported wherever she can. Anyone would be lucky to have her support in their pregnancy journey and postpartum."
Two things in Margo's feedback are worth drawing out, because we hear them again and again.
The first is that the gap she worried about was real. Standard postnatal care in the UK ends with a home visit on day five, and the next scheduled contact is the six week check. The weeks in between are when feeding is established, when recovery is happening, and when most of the questions arrive. They are also the highest risk period for a mother's mental health. Margo did not have to find that out the hard way.
The second is consistency. Margo and her partner had one midwife who knew their story, so nothing had to be repeated and no question felt too small to ask. That is what continuity of care means in practice, and it is the whole reason we do it this way.
Thank you, Margo, for trusting us with those first weeks, and for letting us share this.
